The directors of the Hunter Estate development company, The Horse Paddock Ltd, are thrilled to announce that at the prestigious NZ Civil Contractors Association’s Northland Construction Awards recently, the civil contractors appointed to carry out the demanding Hunter Estate project — Earthworx Ltd (from Ruakaka in Northland) — took out first prize for their high standard of construction, resulting in the obviously delightful Hunter Estate subdivision.

The directors also wish to thank Hawthorne Geddes (Whangarei) for the engineering design of the incredibly efficient stormwater catchment and discharge systems, and Reyburn & Bryant (Whangarei), who were responsible for the design and survey. Reyburn & Bryant’s team was fronted by Richard Smales, who carried out the job of Project Supervision with boundless energy and skill. The directors further wish to thank all the smaller local businesses — without their help, the remarkable end result would not have been achieved. Finally, our thanks must go to Hans Garton of Earthworx Ltd. His honesty and integrity in the construction industry sets a sky-high benchmark.
